Our client is a well-established energy and infrastructure company looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Performance who will be responsible for month-end and reporting up to and including preparation and review of financial statements, variance analysis, assisting with preparation of annual budgets, and balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations.

About the Opportunity

  • Monitor progress of projects by ensuring that costs and revenue projections/forecasts are accurately captured, create insights into project to date billings and variances to support Project Managers. Calculate monthly WIP accruals.
  • Perform general accounting duties including journal entries, review bank reconciliations, fixed asset amortization, accrual entries, and detailed variance analysis to budget and prior year.
  • Be accountable for the billing process by supporting the administrators and ensuring a timely and accurate accounts receivable and invoicing process. Be involved in the collection of outstanding receivables for assigned companies working directly with clients to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monthly financial statements for assigned companies including variance analysis of the P&L and preparation of cash flow projections.
  • Provide financial direction to office administrators and ensure proper controls are in place.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account analysis and working papers.
  • Prepare year-end account analysis and working papers, provide explanations to auditors and prepare any additional schedules as requested
  • Budget and forecast support.
  • Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Oakville Hydro’s Policies and Procedures.  It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain applicable health and safety information from the Company intranet site or your supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

About You

  • CPA
  • 3-5 years’ relevant accounting experience
  • 3-5 years’ related experience in Construction Industry
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and accounting software packages
  • Great Plains experience

Salary Range

$85,000 - $90,000/year
