- Assist with annual and multi-year operating budget assessing and advising on the key drivers to performance, and subsequently perform the monitoring and forecasting of such budgets on a risk-based approach, challenging and influencing the assumptions used by budget holders to achieve expected financial results.
- Confirm budget assumptions, providing insight into drivers to costs and materials utilization and recommendations for increases to budgeted financials or changes in resource utilization.
- Coordinate the development and consolidation of the annual and multi-year operating budget, and subsequently perform the monitoring and forecasting of such budgets at a network-wide level with support for stakeholders and escalation of risks and opportunities to Senior decision makers
- Assist with financial forecasts, utilizing historical and current trends and performance drivers to confirm updated financial expectations
- Consolidate quarterly reforecast with subsequent communications to board on drivers to expected outcomes
- Work collaboratively with Finance Business Partners to ensure consistency in approach to financial management;
- Assist with specific monthly financial reporting, consolidating various sources of information to provide evidence based insight into financial performance vs expected performance.
- Assist with consolidated financial performance reporting with insight into trends and performance indicators, in order to prepare and present financial result to senior leaders.
- Ensure that key control activities for areas under the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis’s responsibilities are properly identified, and ensure their proper design, implementation and operating effectiveness;
- Participate in relevant ad hoc projects (e.g., internal and external audits, lab integration, presentations, etc.), as required
- Coordinate and/or perform the journal entry process ensuring correct recognition of revenue and expenses in line with financial directives and guidelines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration and/or relevant field is required
- A Master’s degree or relevant experience in Business Administration or Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is preferred
- A minimum of five years progressive financial analysis experience
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting for large complex organizations;
- Ability to work with Large data sets and Business Intelligence tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Excellent organizational, communication and decision making/problem solving and interpersonal skills
