Sr Systems Administrator

About the Company  
Our client is a large successful organization in the manufacturing industry, and they are looking to hire a Sr Systems Administrator for a full time position in Markham, 3 days per week in the office.

About the Opportunity     

• This role will be responsible for administration of hybrid IT infrastructure (70% on prem 30% Azure)
• Tech stack: about 3000 users, 2500 Windows laptops/desktops, 4000 total devices (e.g. phones, printers, anything with an IP), servers are 75% Windows (including IIS and MSSQL) 25% Linux (about 850 virtual servers on VMware, slowly moving to Azure), Intune, SCCM
• We are looking for a strong systems administrator coming from midsize/large companies (200+ VMs) with good onprem server/domain/storage understanding and good Azure AD/Exchange/365 cloud administration skills
• This person will be 70% hands-on and 30% working on (and leading some) projects
• We are looking for people who have had some informal leadership experience (coaching/developing more jr staff) and some per-project lead experience
• This role definitely has a growth/career path to Lead role

• Strong on-prem production Windows stack administration experience - Windows servers, VMware, SAN
• Good Azure experience - Azure AD/Exchange/M365
• Understanding of cyber concepts
• Any lead experience (projects, teams)
• Experience with multi-site and multi-domain environments
• Exposure to formal IT change management / ITSM concepts
• Ability to commute to Markham office 3 days/wk
• Very good communication and presentation skills

• Any other cloud (GCP or AWS) exposure
• Manufacturing experience (highly preferred)
• Related certifications
• 24x7 environment exposure

Salary Range
$100,000-$115,000/year
