IT Manager

About the Company   

Our client is one of Canada's oldest and most established equipment companies looking to hire an IT Manager 

About the Opportunity 

• They support the entire IT environment which includes Microsoft stack, O365, SharePoint - onprem, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Azure, 6 virtualized VMware servers, Cisco firewall/routers/switches with hub& spoke system between branches, SD-WAN which is used separately for ERP, Win for backups, SAN Storage – 8 (6 TB) which is encrypted, no ticketing system and uses text messages, very low documentation but they have a DR and IR – incident recovery plan.  

• ERP is called PFW which is a small system which was initially designed and built for John Deere. They use Fibernetics where they provide desk phones and ISP. They have a MSP based in Kitchener who supports them with VMWare and firewalls. Current ongoing project is implementing Intune and they are gathering applications. 

• PFW is weak for reporting and they uses Crystal reports and looking to implement Power BI. For info, CDK Global acquired PFW 

• There is no hands on people management responsibility and the requirement is of an IT generalist with hands on experience in providing M365 support and ERP application support. 

About You 

• Strong hands on experience with supporting MS environment – Windows servers, MS stack – O365, SharePoint – On prem, Azure cloud services, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Intune 

• Network security experience with any product - client uses ATP and Defender 

• Strong experience in setting up new laptop for users, refreshing iPhones, setting up multiple office peripherals 

• Good experience in supporting any ERP system. 

• Reporting with any tool such as Crystal report or PowerBI 

• Vendor management 

• Commuting to Etobicoke 4 days / week 

Bonus Items: 

• Proven experience with virtualization – VMWare 

• Networking experience 

• Experience with BCP - Business Continuity Planning and DR - Disaster Recovery 

• Does not want to see: Open work permit 

• Working hours / shifts / OT expected: 9am to 5pm

Salary Range 

$110, 000 - $120,000/year
