Our client has an exciting role at an energy company. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be focused on supervision and management of the accounting team, reporting, month-end, ad hoc projects, internal controls and process improvement.

About the Opportunity

• Oversee the transactional processing results of the shared services team ensuring they are meeting service levels
• Provide insightful reporting on shared services and other KPIs with a focus on accounts receivable
• Ensure revenue, expenses and payroll are accurately captured as part of the monthly financial close process
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting
• Support the development of budgeting and forecasting of shared services and staffing for the company
• Support the annual financial audit
• Review of reconciliations completed by junior financial analyst and completion of reconciliations for more complex accounts
• Month end closing process (i.e. journal entry preparation, accruals, eliminations, creating continuities for key risk accounts)
• Review and approval of billing to customers in line with processes
• Review and approval of weekly payroll processing as well as monthly payroll related remittances and submissions
• Partner effectively with the FP&A, treasury and tax teams to provide timely, high-quality financial reporting to enable sound decision-making
• Develop and maintain financial reports using Management Reporter and/or Power BI
• Support Microsoft Dynamics (D365): Finance & Operations workflow management
• Other Ad-hoc projects and process improvement, as requested

About You

• CPA designation
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience
• Mid to large sized, public company experience preferred
• Reporting Standard: IFRS is an asset
• Energy, Oil and Gas, Mining industry experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Salary Range
$90,000 - $95,000/year
