About the Opportunity
- Full cycle payroll administration for payrolls located in Ontario and British Columbia as well as provide support to any and all other payrolls that require assistance
- Full-cycle union payroll administration; and related remittances using third party payroll provider
- Processing of payments and remittances, including source deductions, field WSIB, EHT, and monthly remittances to Local Benefit offices
- Preparation and completion of year-end process, including reconciliation, filing and issuing of T4s and T2200s
- Prepares and issues manual pay cheques for union staff as required
- Preparation of labour and site reports for all management requests
- Respond to all employee enquiries as required and maintain employment files
- Department, Joint Apprenticeship Council and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
- Any and all other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives
About You
- University degree in Business/Accounting
- 1-3 years of experience and knowledge of all aspects of full-cycle payroll administration and management
- Experience performing full cycle payroll administration in a unionized environment is an asset
- Experience with payroll systems
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding financial records, pension, profit sharing, and the like
- Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Proven commitment; a team player
Pay Rate
$21 - $24/hour
