Systems Administrator (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Participate in supporting the development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrading of all IT systems (including servers, network equipment, operating systems, and network connectivity (e.g., VOIP services, software applications, and peripherals))
• Ensure that infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements
• Manage basic and expedited support to resolve all networking-related issues
• Take ownership of service tickets involving infrastructure related issues, either customer or system generated
• Primary ownership of system builds, for servers and desktop computers at the Toronto site
• Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall network health, by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency
• Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine whether their applicability aligns with the business needs
• Perform system administration to ensure high quality services are provided to users
• Second level support to the service desk
• Other duties as assigned

About You

• Bachelor's degree in IT, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience in a multi-office environment
• Experience working with various service desk ticketing systems
• Experience with some or all of the listed software: Thinkbox Deadline, Maya, 3Ds Max, and After Effects support
• Adobe creative cloud support experience
• Experience working in a video animation environment, with an understanding of video rendering technology would be an asset
• Experience working with cloud services, including AWS and Azure
• Knowledge of Systems and network administration, capacity planning, systems security principles, and general server management best practices
• Strong orientation to quality, continuous improvement and customer service
• Strong root cause analysis skills
• Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements

• High degree of expertise with Windows server operating system and application virtualization

• Understanding of enterprise SAN and NAS configurations
• Extensive experience Active Directory
• MS Office, Microsoft Outlook, VMware, and System Imaging skills
• Directory Services (e.g., AD, LDAP), Systems (e.g., Windows, IOS, Linux, MS Exchange & SharePoint), Internet Protocols (e.g., DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL)

• Experience with different network types (i.e., LAN, WAN)
• Experience with switches and routers
• Experience with backup solutions
• Scripting skills for Windows (PowerShell) and Linux (BASH) would be assets
• Experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment

Salary

$65,000 - $70,000/year
