As Senior Accountant your primary responsibility will be to lead and mentor the General Ledger team for Mosaic Sales Solution Canada & affiliated companies. Various project-based activities will be included such as any potential acquisitions, integration of new business solutions and its impact on the financial records and supporting various tax audits. This work and other special project work will require collaboration with other Finance and Operational stakeholders Project Accounting, Client Finance, Accounts Payable, Collections

You are driven to produce results in a timely and effective manner and you possess strong attention to detail and insist on accuracy. This role will be part of the Controller group, reporting into the Senior Finance Manager

About the Opportunity

• Lead, coach and mentor the accounting team
• First point of contact for general ledger related information
• Manage the balance sheet for Mosaic and affiliated companies
• Establish procedures for more complex analysis of accounts as required. Implement procedures with the team to ensure balances are reasonable and accurate
• Review reconciliations prepared by the team
• Review weekly data distributions and bank reconciliations
• Enhance accuracy and efficiency of current processes
• Manage monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
• Timely preparation of quarterly review affidavit
• Support various audits external year-end, corporate tax, or commodity tax, etc
• Support with technical accounting and tax research
• Various other duties or support required based on business needs; e.g. any potential acquisitions, integration of new business solutions and its impact on financial records, etc

About You

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• CPA designation in final stages is desirable
• Takes accountability and ownership of work
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent team leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great autonomy
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to proactively contribute to the work and team by identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience with an ERP system is an asset

Salary

$75,000 - $80,000/year
