ARE YOU A LINUX SPECIALIST? DO YOU ENJOY SUPPORTING LARGE ENTERPRISE HOSTING ENVIRONMENTS? One of our well-known, midsize clients is hiring an Enterprise Unix/Linux Support Engineer to join the team that handles their large enterprise hosting environment.
Unix/Linux Administrator (Hosting/NetApp)
About the Opportunity
You will take part in a pivotal and exciting full-time position within a growing private international company. This role provides hands-on support to the enterprise B2B hosting environment based on virtualized Unix/Linux platforms and NAS/SAN storage solutions (NetApp, etc.).
- Install, configure and support Linux servers and operating systems, including virtualization (VMWare)
- Configure and deploy new servers (CentOS), storage solutions, switches, routers
- Troubleshoot any server and network issues that arise in the environment
- Schedule installations, upgrades and patching in accordance with established procedures
- Configure and support MySQL database servers
- Configure and support web servers (Apache)
- Experience with Puppet or Chef is a plus
- Write, edit and revise documentation for product development, support services and customer/end-user activities
About You
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Linux administrator in enterprise level Unix/Linux environments (hosting preferred)
- Expert understanding of server/network troubleshooting, escalations on critical public-facing Apache web servers
- Strong technical hands-on skills setting up and supporting NAS/SAN storage arrays (preferably NetApp)
- Strong skills with Linux virtualization (VMWare)
- Strong Shell scripting skills, experience with other scripting languages is a plus (e.g. Perl, Python, etc.)
- Linux/Unix server management, installing and patching applications
Pay Range
$90,000-$92,000/year
