IT Supervisor (Manufacturing)
The Information Technology (IT) Supervisor will be responsible for delivery of first, second and third-level IT infrastructure support to all staff, and will manage one staff member. This position will report directly to the VP of Finance and will assist in maintaining an efficient and well-organized IT Department that effectively supports 50+ employees. This role will require the selected candidate to deliver support services in a variety of technical disciplines, while operating within best practices, standards and expectations. You will be responsible for managing Technology Infrastructure, including all owned networks, servers, workstations, production related systems, telecommunications infrastructure and Help Desk support.
About the Opportunity
- Manage the corporate technical infrastructure and develop and recommend new technologies and establish corporate standards and procedures for support and operations
- Evaluate new emerging hardware and software technologies, and recommend cost-effective technology solutions based on evaluation and test results
- Prepare purchase orders for approved asset acquisitions such as computing equipment and related services
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing with vendors and other technology suppliers
- Maintain on-going inventories of corporate computing assets such as hardware and software products and licenses
- Ensure that all requests for support are responded to in a reasonable time and executed accurately by IT, making changes to process and procedures as required to ensure the appropriate support is provided
- Provide internal customer service throughout the company, maintaining a close customer business relationship and creating an environment in which staff receives information and automation necessary to maximize productivity on a short and long-term basis
- Provide service and support 24/7/365 as required, during exceptional circumstances, to maintain systems and service availability. This includes monitoring and responding to after-hours alerts sent though mobile devices, as well as responding to phone calls for support as situations require
About You
- MUST HAVE provided and/or managed IT support in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of working experience in a hands-on IT support capacity (desktop, server, network)
- 2+ years of IT and People Management experience
- Understanding of ERP/MRP systems as they fit into manufacturing business processes
- Experience supporting and managing Windows Desktops, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Servers, VMWare, Active Directory, MSSQL, Citrix, Crystal, Cisco, VOIP, etc.
- Relevant industry certifications preferred (i.e.: PMP, ITIL, MCSE or similar designations)
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize team activities considering overall business direction while setting realistic and achievable goals
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines using a project management approach
- Seasoned, in-depth knowledge of technological concepts, ITIL best practices and procedures
Pay Range
$80,000 - $85,000/year
