About the Company

Our client is a large technical service provider and they are looking to hire an Assistant Controller for their team. The Assistant Controller would be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, billing and accounts receivable function, treasury function and preparing financial reports for Management.

About the Opportunity

• Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
• Manage and mentor 4 direct reports
• Responsible for maintaining department budgets in the ERP system
• Responsible for approving EFT and cheque payments
• In charge of weekly cash flow forecasts
• Weekly and monthly payroll source deductions
• File monthly HST return
• Support internal audit
• Prepare year-end audit working papers for external auditors and provide them with the requested information

About You

• CPA Designation (any)
• 5+ years’ experience in senior finance/accounting role (Assistant Controller, Senior accounting manager, etc.) with people management and supervision experience
• Strong full cycle accounting experience
• WIP accounting (i.e. Construction, engineering, professional services etc.) experience an asset
• Strong knowledge with ERP systems (e.g. Maestro)

Salary Range

$90,000 - $100,000/year
