Accounts Payable Clerk - 3 Month Contract to Permanent (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Obtain approval for disbursements and ensure that expenditures do not exceed available cash
• Prep and fill out payments to vendors, using cash, cheque, credit, and other forms of payment
• Audits purchase requests for materials, supplies, equipment, and other collateral; verifies that orders are charged to the proper accounts
• Post and reconcile company payments to General Ledger
• Review bills for errors and/or discrepancies, investigating all discrepancies
• Post Accounts Payable data to P&L reports, balance sheets, income statements, and other documentation
• Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records
• Balance daily Accounts Payable batches; prepare and distribute payment reports and statistics to key personnel
• Work with vendors to troubleshoot discrepancies, using statement of account and reconciling vendor accounts

About You

• 2+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable Experience
• Strong knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices
• Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports
• Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
• Excellent and professional English skills, both verbal and written
• Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Pay Rate

$20 - $23/hour
