Junior Accountant (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of Accounts Payable transactions, including but not limited to coding and verifying invoices, and coordinating approval process of invoices
• Act as main point of contact with vendors and ensure accounts are up to date
• Assist in the payment process including cheque runs/ACH/wire payments
• Assist with tracking expenses and processing expense reports, as well as credit card reconciliations
• Assist with preparation of bank and credit card reconciliations
• Perform key accounting control functions including weekly treasury reports for various Funds and legal entities
• Assist in the preparation of working papers for interim and year end audits as required
• Provide administrative support and assistance with various other projects as required

About You

• Post-secondary business or finance degree
• Organizational and communication skills
• Proficient with standard accounting software (Sage 300 (Accpac), Yardi, JD Edwards, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Azure
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Enrolled in the CPA program or other comparable accounting certification
• Ability to be analytical and problem-solve
• Highly motivated and deadline driven work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Salary

$38,000 - $42,000/year
