About the Opportunity

  • Providing full financial support to the functions – engaging in commercial business issues and decisions
  • Ensuring strong financial controls and DoA governance are in place for all functions
  • Supporting business decision making through insightful financial management information and analysis
  • Working with the functional leaders to produce robust business plans, budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Driving a proactive approach to cost management ensuring effective decision making and ROI
  • Ensuring leaders across the Functions understand core financial processes and has access to specialist teams
  • Ensuring the Finance Function understands the challenges and drivers within the Functions so that finance processes & governance both support and challenge these functions
  • Ensuring that the Global Finance Function have clear visibility to the pipeline of contracts and investments which will need to be approved
  • Ensuring that Function Leaders are engaging with the correct members of the Finance Function
  • Managing a team of Finance Business Partners in accordance with global business partnering frameworks and ensuring the development of talent

About You

  • CPA (Cdn)
  • At least 5 years experience in Commercial Finance or senior management accounting roles
  • Significant experience supporting cost functions
  • Experience in international organizations and in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrates and demands personal commitment to team goals
  • Ability to nurture a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement
  • Experience in managing a team and developing talent
  • Pragmatic and hands on individual – able to dig into detail
  • Can build relationships across the organization and collaborate to get the best outcomes
  • Has the gravitas needed to build respect and support
  • Doesn’t rely on reporting relationships to get things done
  • Can use the information to drive decision making and improve financial performance
  • Tenacious and achievement orientated, will deliver results
  • Good communication skills: able to interact with all levels of the organization up to Executive Committee with equal ease and effectiveness
  • Can drive change through an organization and bring others along in the journey
  • Can operate in an environment of change with ease and does not need structure to operate effectively but can bring structure into ways of working
