We are looking for an Accounting Administrator with the Project accounting background. Need is for a
driven, diligent, and mature person to assume responsibility to support and drive usage of accounting
and project management system. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the following activities are complete.
About the Opportunity
- Perform Accounts Payable functions: 3- way matching
- Issue cheques on weekly basis
- Ensure all invoices are applied to the proper projects
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements and ensure all the expenses applied to the right
- projects
- Review employees’ expenses to ensure the tax application is correct; and the costs are entered
- to the proper categories
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments for employees’ expenses
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Maintain good vendor relationships, resolve invoice discrepancies and other matters requiring
- follow up
- Create a Purchase Order and enter good receipts in the system based on the packing slips
- Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Receivable including invoicing, cash receipts, collections
- Perform specific Month and Year End responsibilities
- Create new projects in system
- Set-up all aspects of projects including phases and tasks, in conjunction with the project managers and team leaders
- Monitor timesheet input, follow-up with stragglers and ensure compliance (proper project charging, hour’s chargeability, account codes, materials and expenses)
- Monitor all aspects of project work within the system and adjust project parameters to achieve proper cost control, reporting and predictive trouble avoidance
- Maintain current and historical files including project related documents and correspondence
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
About You
- Certificate /Diploma in Business Accounting or Business Administration
- Over 5 years related experience, ERP software skills preferred
- Experiences in Construction or Engineering firm would be preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize work and is well organized
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Driven and results oriented
Pay Rate
$55/hour
