About the Opportunity

• Strategy and Planning
  • Lead planning process and implement finance and accounting objectives that are aligned with the company’s strategy
  • Position the company for long-term competitive advantage by developing strategic decisions to ensure profitability
  • Establish company’s financial KPIs and related dashboards to demonstrate controls in real time
  • Partner with other team members to understand performance drivers and define appropriate reports and controls to be used in the business
  • Capital planning and investments, Control overall technology budgets to ensure ROI
  • Establish strategic partnerships to secure supply chains and enhance manufacturing quality
  • Evaluate, manage, and harmonize the company’s company-wide technology investments and infrastructure
  • Engage in M&A transactions and provide recommendations
• Financial Management, Control, Business Processes
  • Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies, records, and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting
  • Oversee all aspects of Accounting, Finance, HR and Legal, for all entities, including those in other countries
  • Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and budgets
  • Analyze and present company’s financial results on a monthly basis
  • Build and manage highly skilled accounting team to develop and support company initiatives
  • Manage, coach, and develop finance staff
  • Manage cash flow to ensure business objectives are met
  • Responsible for annual audits and providing information to external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and legal requirements
  • Develop and manage relationships with financial institutions, insurance providers, private equity, external auditors and tax and other consultants
  • Ensure all historical legal and finance records & documentation (a.k.a. The Data Room) are maintained in an orderly, accurate and timely fashion
  • Establish efficient and documented work-flow processes and accounting policies
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and organization controls as may be required i.e., ISO or SOC
  • Develop new initiatives and processes that reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
• Technology
  • Ensure appropriate accounting software used to realize the company’s initiatives
  • Lead accounting and finance applications portfolio strategy and support new software and/or ERP implementation initiatives (NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Acquire software/hardware required to meet the company’s internal and external accounting needs
  • Work with CIO to manage, mitigate and minimize the company’s IT and network risk
  • Help audit, improve, and contribute to company-wide IT infrastructure and Network Security, as required
  • Oversee and control SRED, IRAP, MITCS etc. claim applications and manage associated relationships
  • The filing of patents and the generation and maintenance of relevant documentation

About You

• CPA
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance positions
• Reporting, accounting, and FP&A experience includes managing inventory and supply chain
• Previously overseen US and Canadian tax, HR, and legal agreements
• Have implemented ERP systems (NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics is an asset)

Salary Range
$180,000 - $220,000/year
