Payroll Accountant (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Process biweekly payroll for hourly and salary employees in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain and update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance
• Overages, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
• Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income, social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers’ compensation payments
• Prepare and issue annual tax documents, such as T4s, T5018s, ROEs, and T2200s
• Process employee expense reports in an accurate and timely manner
• Reconcile all payroll accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Maintain employee absence tracker and ensure all records are kept up-to-date
• Responsible for researching payroll regulations and ensure company policies are up-to-date and are accurate
• Responsible for preparing monthly payroll reports for management
• Responsible for performing job costing on all materials and work sites for the company
• Answer payroll-related questions from employees, supervisors, and managers
• Other duties as assigned

About You

• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Excellent Data entry skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Experience with Sage 300
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented and organized
• Strong team player
• Ability to multitask while managing deadlines

Salary

$55,000/year
