Our Client is an investment holding company. They are looking for a Financial Reporting Manager responsible primarily for external financial reporting as a Canadian public company issuing investment entity financial statements on a fair value basis.

About the Opportunity

• Perform the company’s day-to-day accounting.
• Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual disclosures in the company’s financial statements and MD&A, including detailed review of accounting policies, critical accounting estimates and judgments and subsidiary submissions, completion of disclosure checklist and drafting disclosures as needed for new transactions and policies.
• Review all continuous disclosure documents including financial reports and Business Acquisition Reports for investment entity reporting.
• Interact and coordinate with external auditors as necessary for interim reviews and year-end audit.
• Contribute to the preparation of quarterly reports to the Board and/or Audit Committee, address any of their ad hoc requests.
• Undertake special projects (i.e. modeling the financial impact of prospective transactions including acquisitions and divestitures, preparing prospectuses and other external reporting requirements, etc.).
• Prepare quarterly equity accounting for investments in associates.
• Prepare technical accounting white papers that conclude on the appropriate accounting treatment for investments to support both the company’s investment entity accounting and  cost accounting, including the preparation of acquisition accounting memos for Indian Investments in associates and subsidiaries.
• Advise subsidiaries on the consolidation process and resolution of accounting issues

About You

• CPA
• Strong proficiency in IFRS reporting either from industry or from public accounting (external audit)
• Exposure to Consolidations

Salary Range
$110,000 - $120,000/year
