About the Opportunity
General Accountabilities
  • Support the Corporate Controller’s objective of maintaining financial integrity, compliance and effective financial reporting and internal control.

Specific Accountabilities:
  • Maintain the general ledger, including chart of accounts, review of account balances, reconciliations and account structures, implementation of system changes and enhancements.
  • Manage and successfully execute the monthly close and reporting processes, including the timely and accurate issuance of appropriate management reports.
  • Manage and successfully execute the quarterly close and confidential reporting processes, including the development of an appropriate disclosure letter, representation letter and confidential reporting process analysis package.
  • Perform specific functional accounting and reporting duties, such as manage specific account balances, fixed assets, OEB’s Uniform System of Accounts (USofA), Statistics Canada Surveys, support for complex transactions, preparation of journals and development and issuance of confidential internal management reports.
  • .Provide analysis and input to the monthly close process, managing, developing and issuing fixed asset related reports, support to the regulatory reporting process including ensuring that fixed asset categorizations conform to USofA and cost allocation categories.
  • Provide financial oversight to the fixed assets area of the balance sheet including working with Inergi and other business areas on process improvements.
  • Manage the over-all mapping from the general ledger to the USofA.
  • Coordinate and manage the completion of Statistics Canada Surveys, ensuring that tools are effectively utilized to streamline the process.
  • Manage the ongoing requirements of the external auditors, ensuring that all working papers and related support are provided on a timely basis.
  • Maintain appropriate internal control policies and develop procedures as required. Ensure requirements are effectively communicated to business units and monitor compliance.
  • Follow-up to ensure that guidance on the application of generally accepted accounting has been followed within the company.
  • Support regulatory requirements, including witnessing and preparation of evidence, development of briefing material, responses to interrogatories and transcript undertakings and general hearing support.
  • Ensure applicable outsourced services to Inergi are appropriately delivered and effectively manage the relationship with Inergi counterparts.

About You
  • CPA’s or CFE
  • Internal and external reporting experience (firm or industry)
  • Experience with Consolidations as part of month end close
  • Any industry
  • Overall, 8 years’ experience
  • Experience in SAP, BI reporting, and BPC (Nice to have)

Salary Range
$100,000 - $106,000/year
