About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior Accountant for a full time permanent position to join the accounting department, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

• Process accounts payable invoices, expense reports and staff advance requests
• Sort, code, confirm approvals, check back up attached and enter in accounting system
• Prepare journal entries for prepaid expenses and inter-company charges
• Process wire payments, ACH payments and manage weekly cheque run
• Maintain vendor account database
• Review vendor statements, and follow up as needed
• Process two monthly visa payments including obtaining receipts and downloading statements
• Maintain payables filing
• Prepare monthly HST/GST & WSIB returns
• Prepare daily bank deposit and process payment receipts in the accounting system
• Assist with collections
• Record and reconcile subscription revenue
• Reconcile assigned GL accounts and assist with month end preparation
• Prepare month end accruals for key expense accounts
• Provide year and audit documentation and reports
• Other duties as assigned

About You

• 2 years’ work experience in accounting
• University degree or College certificate/diploma
• Strong interpersonal skills – attention to details
• Excellent communication both written and verbal
•  Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Excel and data entry
• Experience with intercompany entries and foreign exchange transactions an asset
• Experience with an ERP accounting software is an asset

Salary

$43,000 - $47,000/year
