General Accountant - 3+ Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and assist with balance sheet analysis
• Manage general ledger of assigned companies/entities and ensure ledger transactions are recorded accurately, timely and support documentation is sufficient
• Reconcile monthly gross margin reports
• Prepare monthly working papers and analyze transactions to determine corrective actions or adjustments
• Prepare key Trend analysis reports as required from time to time
• Respond to inquiries from various departments regarding monthly departmental/regional reports
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Assist in quarter/year end functions and audit preparations
• Assist in review of Accounts Payable payment processing
• Assist Operations team with developing Revenue Assurance processes, controls and reporting
• Various ad-hoc tasks as requested by Manager

About You

• Accounting degree
• 2-5 years hands on experience in a similarly situated role
• Retail power experience preferred
• CPA designated or pursuing it
• Complete knowledge and practical experience of the full accounting cycle
• Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience with Great Plains is an asset
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Detail oriented and proactive
• Flexible/adaptable to change and a quick learner
• Able to communicate ideas and solutions clearly and concisely in English (written and oral)
• Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team environment

Pay Rate

$19 - $22/hour
