About the Opportunity

• Sophisticated financial model construction in Excel
• Monthly and quarterly management reporting, including explaining and communicating business trends to senior management
• Creation of new reports in Excel or Power BI
• Competitor and market analysis
• Forecasting
• Budgeting. Supporting the annual budgeting process; creating, maintaining, and updating budget models.
• Variance and trend analysis, including in support of the Month-End Close process.
• Generation of monthly, quarterly, and other reports containing financial information as well as discussion and analysis
• Ad hoc analysis around new business ventures, potential acquisitions, what-if scenarios, etc
• Collection and summary of financial and non-financial data; interaction with FP&A database include SQL programming

About You

• Accounting experience - familiarity with financial statements, accounting rules, accounting entries, accounting data systems and charts of accounts (desirable but not mandatory)
• Finance knowledge – Understanding of business concepts related to trends and drivers affecting revenues, profits, and expenses, loans, interest, return on investment
• Critical Thinking – must be able to think through complex problems, ambiguous/partially-defined/changing requirements and data sets
• Independence – ability to work independently, seek assistance from multiple sources when encountering issues, self-starter
• Work Ethic – this position experiences surges of workload at certain points of the month and the year; the successful candidate will be expected to invest the necessary effort to meet required deadlines at those times.
• Responsibility – This position is open to individuals willing to take responsibility for the pace and quality of their output, and for the commitments of the finance team
• Pursuit or attainment of a professional credential such as a CA/CMA/CGA/CPA or CFA is an asset
• Pursuit or attainment of an applicable graduate degree such as an MBA is an asset

Salary Range

$70,000 - $75,000/year
