Cyber Security Project Manager - 6-Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Provide Project Management expertise in cyber security, monitor internal and external compliance with vendors, contractors and employees to ensure they are working within the framework of the cyber security policies
  • Work on the advancement of cyber security maturity of the organization and work closely with third party security partners to deliver security projects on time
  • Manage the compliance and adherence to relevant information security and privacy regulations such as Ontario´s Personal Health Information Privacy Act (PHIPA) and Canada´s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
  • Provides Project Management expertise on the security posture and cyber security mitigations as it applies to but not limited to servers, workstations, network appliances, peripheral equipment, mobile devices, applications software, VoIP telephones, telecommunications infrastructure, and biomedical devices
  • Work with the vendors and internal technology teams, to help maintain essential security operations including but not limited to operating system hardening, security tools, application audits, server security, email security and workstation GPO policy hardening
  • Work with the vendors and internal technology teams, to maintain server and application security while following internal IT change management process
  • Help with the planning and executing the deployment, configuration, and testing of security protocols; defining system policies and procedures as it relates to cyber security
  • Manage security information and event log review, perform audits of systems access as required; lead cyber security Incident Response Processes
  • Help manage the testing and application of vendor software patches and security updates as required while adhering to the standard IT change management process
  • Help all parties who are participating in Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration tests and perform remediation
  • Validate end-point security technologies to ensure effectiveness by working with the assigned teams
  • Lead Cybersecurity awareness and training exercises
  • Ensures compliance with external requirements and industry security standards
  • Responsible for maintaining a broad knowledge of industry trends, emerging security standards, and cyber security best practices
  • Provide recommendations on security KPI’s and metrics while focusing on the reporting and analysis of KPIs for sustainable compliance
  • Regularly reviews and provides meaningful recommendations on technology-related cyber security governance processes to ensure they evolve to meet changing needs
  • Proactively reviews vendor/industry information to identify new opportunities to optimize efficiencies.
  • Participates/leads activities to meet accreditation standards within the scope of this role
  • Responsible to recognize and report staff, and environment safety issues while working to identify and implement preventative and corrective actions

About You

  • Degree Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
  • Any one of the following certifications are highly desired:
    • Security+ certification required
    • CCSP and experience with cloud security strongly preferred
    • ITIL certification preferred
    • PMP is preferred and highly desired
    • CISSP, CISA or CISM certification would be an asset
  • 5+ years of related Cyber Security Project Management experience
  • Experience with or knowledge of security tools and monitoring, analysis and mitigation
  • Experience with or knowledge of incident triaging, analysis and response
  • Knowledge of Next Gen Firewall technology such as Palo Alto firewalls is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of penetration testing tools
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • DNS/DHCP/Group Policy and Active Directory
    • Design, development, implementation and support of software and hardware solutions, systems or products
    • Troubleshooting and implementing networking technologies
    • Virtualization, VDI and VMWare experience an asset
    • Microsoft SQL experience an asset
    • Knowledge of healthcare and enterprise systems and applications preferred
    • Knowledge of best practices in ITIL
    • Intermediate knowledge of network infrastructure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to adapt to rapid change and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision; able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management abilities to ensure that assignments are completed within deadlines and established time frames
  • Demonstrated ability to work with various groups across the organization
  • Provide meaningful input for new applications/ technology implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle private and confidential information
