About the Opportunity
- Year-End Files: Preparing year-end financial statements for complex entities including the preparation of corporate tax returns with the assistance of the tax team on intricate tax issues. Completing complex areas of year-end files for remaining entities. Reviewing less complex files and supervising the staff accountant that prepares the files. Preparing, with the assistance of the staff accountant, annual consolidated net worth statements and overseeing the year-end completion process. Caseware and Caseview are used to prepare year-end files and financial statements. TaxPrep is used to prepare tax returns, charity returns, partnership returns, trust returns, etc.
- Investments: Updating and maintaining investment schedules for various types of investments including private equity fund investments, partnerships, trusts, corporations, foreign entities, etc. Excel is currently used for all investment tracking.
- Bookkeeping, Training & Support: Reviewing various bookkeeping tasks performed by others on the team, including bank and broker reconciliations, donations, medical, prepaids, receivables, etc. QuickBooks is currently used for bookkeeping for all entities.
- Other: Preparing/reviewing journal entries for tax reorganizations and working closely with tax team on various projects, developing/maintaining and implementing accounting policies and procedures, assisting in overseeing the finance IT systems, and other miscellaneous projects. Managing junior staff members. Overseeing audits for 2 charitable organizations and the consolidated net worth.
About You
- CPA, CA required
- Minimum 2 years of managerial experience (small to mid-size firm or industry)
- Experience with Canadian Corporate Tax returns
- Experience with public accounting
Salary
Director level: $150,000 to $160,000/year
Manager level: $130,000 to $150,000/year
