About the Company 

Our client is a supplier for quality machine tools for the metal cutting industry. They are currently looking for a Controller. The Controller will lead the monthly clos process, continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing and compliance functions, preparation of financial statements, ad-hoc projects and the training and developing of staff.

About the Opportunity 

• Monitor exchange rates for Yen, U.S., Euros 
• Oversee bank position daily - Canadian. Bank and U.S. Bank 
• Reviewing new machine orders and following up on deposit payments initiating internal process regarding machine deliveries 
• Having conditional sales agreements prepared (lien agreements) review conditional sales agreements 
• prepare lease docs 
• Review TD Bank and RBC Bank financing schedules and collections 
• Monitor machine commission sales collections on machine commission sales 
• Overseeing A/P desk 
• Prepare machines for A/P Entry 
• Initiate machine payments to suppliers 
• Book Yen buy forward contract for machine payments 
• Cheque signing for employee expenses, a/p payments and other miscellaneous payments review cell phone invoice 
• Ordering new cell phones as required review payroll 
• Prepare reporting for Bank 
• Review all J/E prepared by accounting manager before they are posted 
• Review system P&L, OIH accounts and balance sheet prepare monthly exchange schedule for buy forwards 
• Review all excel reports for P&L and balance sheet accounts prepared by accounting manager prepare financial statements 
• Prepare extra scheduling for year-end audit overseeing year end audit 
• Other duties as assigned 

About You 

• CPA Designation, or close to completion 
• 7+ years of accounting experience 
• 3+ years’ experience as Accounting Manager or Controller 
• Manufacturing and Distribution industry experience, ideally within a small to medium size company 

Salary Range 

$115,000 to $125,000/year
