Our client is a well-established real estate company. They are looking for a Controller who will be responsible for financial reporting and statement preparation, budgeting, cash flow forecasting for commercial properties and/or real estate portfolios.

About the Opportunity 

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all accounting operational functions of a team of accountants 
• Ensure monthly financial reports are delivered accurately and timely 
• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of commercial properties 
• Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for properties and/or portfolios 
• Coordinate activities of external auditors and preparing audit working papers as needed 
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process for the management and operation of real estate properties 
• Manage a team to process and the delivering of property budget and reforecast on a timely basis 
• Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvements and implementing new processes 
• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems 
• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database 
• Develop and monitor business performance metrics 
• Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance for property accounting 

About You 

• CPA or CPA In Progress 
• 5-7 years of relevant experience  
• Commercial Real Estate Experience  
• People management experience - currently Property Accounting Manager or Supervisor level   

Salary Range 

$100,000- $110,000 /year
