Cash Application Specialist - 12-Month Contract

About the Opportunity

  • Reconcile daily cash, credit and debit card transactions with the merchant bank and company records
  • Post customer payments (online, EFT, cash, cheque) daily
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily to ensure all items are accounted for
  • Offset unapplied cash per collector’s request
  • Process small balance write-offs and non-sufficient cheques
  • Handle petty cash and cash float reimbursement requests
  • Ensures monthly, weekly and daily deadlines are met
  • Balance to entries posted in the ledger
  • Interact with managers, collectors and other key stakeholders
  • Partner with accounting team to quickly bring issues to their attention and work to understand the root cause and offering potential solutions
  • Escalate unresolved items to Manager
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

About You

  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in cash applications
  • Experience with applying payments from electronic and manual information to customer accounts
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience in accounts payable functions is an asset
