Senior Recovery Accountant - 18 Month Contract (Closed)

About The Opportunity  

• Update & maintain Recovery Schedules on a monthly basis 
• Calculate and process year-end final billings to tenants 
• Prepare annual property budgets for all expense Recoveries 
• Participate in quarterly reforecast process 
• Review leases and set up Recovery Schedules for newly acquired properties 
• Conduct lease audits on select properties to ensure proper calculation of CAM and Taxes 
• Assist Property Manager with resolution of Tenant's CAM and Tax queries 
• Prepare monthly variance analysis on Net Operating Income, CAM and TAX recovery shortfall & ratio. Pre-billing tenants for Additional rents based on budget 
• Liaise with Leasing Department in finalizing new leases 
• Liaise with Internal and External auditors with respect to CAM and TAX 
• Liaise with Accounts Payable Department in timely payment of all property taxes 
• Analyze and distribute tax refunds to tenants 
• Other duties / projects as required 

About You  

• University degree in Finance or Accounting 
• Proven organizational skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Minimum of 5 years of Recovery / Property Accounting experience 
• Ability to read and interpret leases 
• Sound understanding of Recoverable Capital expenditure and Recoverable Operating Expenses 
• Previous experience with set up of operating cost and realty tax files 
• Ability to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning 
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook 
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems (JD Edwards/Yardi) 

Pay Rate  

$27/hour
