About the Opportunity
- The consolidation and preparation of external financial statements, financial statement notes, and management discussion and analysis for the publicly listed entity, compliant with IFRS
- Financial accounting for several consolidated entities and joint arrangements
- Preparing the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
- Managing accuracy and the timely submission of all documents to SEDAR
- Coordinate with external auditors supporting the audit of the financial statements and notes
- Prepare quarterly analysis of consolidated financial results and prepare a management presentation used to update the Executive team and Board of Directors
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership team
- Accounting analysis work for deals, reviewing all deals from a financial accounting perspective
- Work closely with operational finance, corporate accounting and tax teams to ensure transactions are accurately documented and reported
- Prepare quarterly and annual unaudited statutory financial statements, as required
- Research and analyze changes to IFRS and implementing the adoption of new standards
- Business partner for the various corporate functional leads, providing financial analysis of cost centres
- Support the Corporate Controller on various treasury, tax and corporate accounting projects, which may include equipment financing and managing letters of credit
- Support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team on annual budget process and participate in executing strategic initiative projects
- Coordinate with various consultants, as needed, for accounting of joint arrangements established on Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects
- Opportunities to assist and participate in special projects and other duties
About You
- University degree or college diploma in accounting / business administration
- CPA, CA designation
- 5+ years of progressive Canadian corporate consolidation and financial reporting experience
- Public accounting experience is an asset
- Strong technical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Experience managing large and complex transactions
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe complex accounting concepts to various non-finance audiences in a clear and concise manner
- Self-motivated and proactive with respect to managing workload and professional development
- Accuracy and excellent attention to detail and deliver results under tight deadlines
- High-level of proficiency in Excel, and comfort working with Word and PowerPoint also required
- Software experience with Viewpoint, Spreadsheet Server (an asset), or other financial consolidation software
Pay Rate
$115,000/year
