Financial Analyst (Closed)

About the Opportunity
As a member of the Corporate Finance team, the Financial Analyst will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for the continuous improvement of processes, digitization and automation of financial planning and analysis initiatives and budgeting requirements

• Collaborate with business partners in enhancing Power BI dashboards to speed up decision-making and transparency of information
• Data mining and data preparation of Power BI datasets to be used by business partners
• Utilizing the Johnson Electric ERP systems and other data sources to develop business analytics model in Power BI and share to business partners.
• Coordinating with business partners and other stakeholders including IT to maintain the product master and other essential mappings within ERP system
• Involving in improvement of on-going monthly reporting requirements such as capital reporting, sales reporting and other projects through automation, standardization and simplification
• Assist in 5-year strategy plan process to be used by various stakeholders
• Assisting the FP&A group with consolidation of actual reporting and on-going forecasts and budgets
• Assist with improvement of sales reporting in Cognos Business Intelligence Module Implementation
• Support on-going government funding initiatives by gathering necessary data from Canadian plants
• Provide support to various roles within the corporate finance area and various other tasks as required
• Become main point of contact for Johnson Electric’s FP&A team in Hong Kong, exceeding their expectations in terms of timeliness and accuracy of reporting.  Address any ad-hoc requests for information
• Actively participate in the annual budget process and forecast process, and eventually lead the annual budget process and forecast process by coordinating with Johnson Electric and then leading the processes
• Work closely with business unit controllers to understand monthly results and gather data to meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
• Work closely with Financial Reporting Manager and Finance Manager to assist where necessary
• Improvement projects as required
• Works in compliance with Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001
• Perform other related duties as required

About You

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications including Power BI, knowledge of Power Automate is a plus
• 3-5 years' work experience with CPA designation or plans to pursue a CPA designation
• Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, or Math
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to confidently interact with all levels in the organization from the front line to senior level
• Detailed – oriented individual that understands importance of accuracy and completeness
• A self-starter with a proven track record of building personal work plans that keep priorities on schedule
• Ability to deal with large amounts of data and convert into meaningful information
• Someone with natural aptitude towards detail
• Experience with Cognos suite tools is considered an asset
• Degree of supervision: Self-starter, someone who takes initiative and is able to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Passionate about learning the business and the industry and delivering high quality and accurate results

Salary
$90,000/year
