About the Company
Our client is a local municipality, and they are looking to hire a Full-Time Website Coordinator.
About the Opportunity
- Take a lead role in maintenance and development of the website
- Upload materials to the website by agreed deadlines
- Proactively communicate website production issues, changes or developments and keeps current with emerging web technologies
- Carry out scheduled/regular updates of existing content
- Work with Manager of Marketing to develop new and amended content
- Coordinate web and intranet projects across departments
- Ensure compliancy with AODA and W3C regulations
Website development
- Use web-content management systems to analyze site statistics (eg page visits, time spent on site, links followed)
- Evaluate results
Website Support, Trainings, and Guidelines
- Develop efficient processes and procedures to improve and increase website
- Train staff in content authoring and editing
- Act as contact person for departments to troubleshoot web content problems
- Work with Manager of Marketing on content creation and design development
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Manager of Marketing
- Provide back up support to the Customer Service
- Representative-Civic Center during their absence (vacation, sick)
About You
- Post-secondary education in information technology field or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience managing content and production of high traffic websites
- Knowledge of HTML and experience with content management systems
- Strong analytical skills as well as an ability to make decisions independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and organizations
- Professional in presentation and demeanor
- Proficient in personal computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook in addition to being familiar in learning new technology and program
- Ability to understand and see the “big picture” and to develop departmental strategies, goals, and objectives in line with the municipality’s goals and vision as stated in the Community Master Plan
- Ability to understand and integrate the Sustainability Principles, as outlined in the Unity Plan, in all operational decisions to ensure that the goals of the Unity Plan are followed as the client works towards a sustainable future
- Self-motivated with a keen sense of customer service and excellent decision making skills
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Open to change, with a learning attitude towards work and team contributions
- Exercises judgment and uses discretion in relaying information for the better of the organization
- Maintains confidentiality at all times
- Maintains concentration and accuracy at all times
