About the Opportunity
Warehouse-related
- Oversees and reviews routes and schedules for product deliveries, for both delivery truck drivers and Rack & Roll Specialists
- Ensure timeliness of deliveries that meet delivery schedules and deadlines
- Reviews efficient routes for drivers that minimizes unnecessary travel time
- Maintain and update internal record keeping systems for inventory counts and stock checks with corrected information
- Verifying accuracy of inventory adjustment emails sent by other departments
- Schedules and logs vehicle, machinery, and equipment maintenance
- Maintain an active relationship with external vendors and monitor supply chain efficiencies
- Investigating and correcting errors within the department
- Assist with maintaining the personnel job and vacation schedule within the department
- Responding to phone and email inquiries from other internal colleagues and departments
- Seeks shipping & invoicing efficiencies and improvements
- Provides constructive suggestions to improve warehouse efficiencies (e.g., warehouse layout, communication methods)
- Act as backup for the shipping department
- Liaises with other internal/administration departments as necessary (e.g., QA, HR, Purchasing, Order Desk, Accounts Payable)
- Other reasonable duties relating to the position as deemed by Management
Operations-related
- Point of contact for Facilities Management/housekeeping matters (e.g., carpet cleaning, questions about recycling, dishwasher usage, washroom cleanliness)
- Point of contact for Building Maintenance (e.g., indoor & outdoor lights, HVAC, window cleaning) and Fire Inspection matters
- Oversee matters related to parking lot maintenance (e.g., street & lot cleaning, painting lines)
- Point of contact for snow removal, leaf removal, grass cutting, fallen tree removal services etc.
- Coordinate electrical work from certified electricians when necessary
- Point of contact for IT-related matters
- Perform periodical review and assessment of building overhead and maintenance plans
- Participate in JHSC
About You
- 3+ years in a warehouse/distribution environment
- Proficient in MS Office and other scheduling software
- Efficient planning capabilities, for self and others
- Understanding of basic data and statistics
- Detail oriented and penchant for organization
- Capable of discovering, investigating, and correcting errors
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant field is an asset
- Previous knowledge or experience working with the fastener industry is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
Salary
$65,000 - $70,000/year
