About the Opportunity

• Lead and supervise finance department staff on accounting, reporting, internal controls, and other financial matters.
• Plan and coordinate the annual audit process for all corporate external financial statements and other required financial-oriented compliance reporting, collaborating with all business unit finance teams.
• Manage the company’s co-investment and carried interest programs, including timely and accurate reporting to all limited partners and shareholders.
• Oversee all treasury and corporate investment functions including seeking opportunities to strengthen controls and efficiencies around payables and receivables cycles.
• Manage the preparation and distribution of both internal and external financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
• Manage monthly closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts.
• Oversee and manage shareholder distribution planning and related tax compliance.
• Oversee the company’s annual tax compliance program (T2, T5, T5013, HST, other indirect taxes).
• Coordinate, develop and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process.
• Create and enforce business rules for all financial reporting, including strengthening internal controls over financial reporting.
• Oversee the company’s financial accountability and controls; ensure appropriate fiscal controls are in place to meet statutory compliance and the integrity of data and statements.
• Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure compliance and the documentation of management’s interpretation of these new pronouncements.
• Oversee the preparation of work schedules and other technical work papers and memos in support of the company’s corporate and other generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) financial statements (IFRS and ASPE).
• Research and implement software applications and tools that can be utilized to improve and accelerate the compilation of financial statements and overall corporate finance efficiency in the future.
• Report on a regular basis the company's status against, and ability to meet, its strategic and operational objectives.
• Assume responsibility for financial sections of all compliance reporting identified.
• Provide support to any number of projects from an operational, financial and resource standpoint.
• Identify and analyze information to give early warning of potential problems and recommend corrective action.
• Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company, or as directed by the Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance.

About You

• MBA, CPA, or CMA designation required
• 10 years progressively responsible experience with at least 5 years in management
• Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, financial reporting, internal controls, business planning, and asset management
• IFRS and ASPE experience required
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
• NetSuite knowledge preferred

Salary Range
$170,000 - $180,000/year
