VB.NET Developer - 6 Month Contract (Closed)

Intermediate VB.NET Developer

About the Opportunity

• Research and advise on new and emerging technologies
• Work with the development team, QA team and business managers to provide assistance and direction to the development support system
• Document and advise on technical documentation to ensure the integrity of the company’s knowledge base
• Manage daily requirements to develop the internal product, keeping company development standards in mind
• Provide guidance and perform bug fixes as required
• Have an eye for quality code, solve complex business problems and learn/research new concepts
• Perseverance and being able to manage your time while working on multiple tasks is essential
• General coding, using Jira as your daily support system
• Work in sprints managing a set of task and projects within that sprint

About You

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field of study
• 3 to 5 years’ experience developing in an industry related position
• Test Driven Development, TFS/GIT, VB.NET, C#, MS SQL, .NET Framework, OOP, XML, JSON, Data Access technologies, ADO.NET,
• LINQ, TFS, WCF, Web Services, Restful API, Infragistics, DSA
• Experience in the Finance or Accounting sector is an advantage
• Proven ability to work independently but understand that team dynamics is critical to the on-going success of the team
• Forward thinking while looking for ways to innovate
• Microsoft Certification/Designation an asset
