Technology and Application Analyst (Closed)

Our client is a leading organization in the energy industry. They are looking for a Technology and Application Analyst who will be responsible for administering, organizing, managing and delivering technology and applications support while working with technology vendors and implementation partners. This will be a 12-month contract with the potential for extension or full time.

 

About the Opportunity

  • Log and track the service requests and incidents reported by end users for key applications
  • Fulfill/resolve service requests and incidents
  • Logging tickets on vendor ticketing systems for any issues that need vendor resolution
  • Design and develop reports on ad-hoc reporting tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting and interfaces related tickets that are not complex; work with vendors to obtain support and resolve complex tickets
  • Provide support, technical leadership and oversight to project leaders, subject matter experts, testers and other team members working on development project teams
  • Lead testing and deployment phases of new systems implementations
  • Lead the project planning, testing and deployment phases of system upgrade projects
  • Manage vendor (software, services and other vendors) performance against contracts / SOW on projects and post go-live (including ongoing support)
  • Assist in data management needs by assessing organizational reporting needs, developing, testing or reviewing methods to extract, interface or report required business information
  • Assisting in the testing program for major software project to ensure data integrity on imported data, data calculated in the new system or data exported to other applications

About You

  • Bachelors in Business Administration or a related field
  • Proven experience in working with various business applications such as FIS, CIS, ERP software
  • Experience with Great Plains and/or Northstar is an asset
  • Experience with Cognos is an asset and strongly desired
  • Analytical skills with ability to translate analytical requirements to reports / extracts from systems
  • Experience with SQL queries
  • Experience adding, deleting and creating user permissions in the ERP interface
  • Provide user training on the applications
  • Utility experience is an asset
  • Ability to manage, direct and drive teams to deliver results on IT and related projects
  • Experience in project management/coordination, from conception to delivery
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling tools like Microsoft Project
  • Experience supporting Microsoft technologies is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products, especially Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency), Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Positive and energetic
  • A natural problem solver with a passion for supporting users
