About the Company 

Our client is a growing organization in the insurance industry. They are looking for a Tax Manager who will be responsible for the preparation of all federal and provincial tax filings for all legal entities. The incumbent will be required to liaise with all tax authorities with respect to audit, assessments, and inquiries and the administration of all aspects of the tax functions, proper documentation of all work, discussion and conclusion.

About the Opportunity 

  • Preparation of all federal and provincial tax filings for all legal entities . 
  • All taxes including income taxes, provincial retail sales taxes, provincial premium taxes, and HST/GST/QST. 
  • Liaison with all tax authorities with respect to audit, assessments, and inquiries. 
  • Accounting for all income taxes in Canada. 
  • Preparation of quarterly tax provision calculation and note disclosure in financial statements. 
  • Administration of all aspects of the tax functions, proper documentation of all work, discussion and conclusion. 
  • Train, review and evaluate staff assisted in the tax functions. 
  • Identify and evaluate tax saving opportunities. 
  • Evaluate inter-company transfer pricing and management fee arrangements to ensure best tax positions taken and to comply with all tax requirements. 
  • Responsible for tax planning 
  • Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business. Use knowledge of client business to apply tax situations. 
  • Manages multiple clients, budgets and production goals. 
  • Keep current on all aspects of taxes and keep management informed of opportunities and pending changes. 
  • Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues. 
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes. 
  • Departmental liaison with IT staff on all technical matters relating to tax applications. 
  • Assist in estimating and monitoring annual cash taxes. 
  • Participate in industry tax committees, IBC and other 

About You 

  • CPA 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a corporate tax position  
  • Experience preparing insurance organization tax returns beneficial 
  • Knowledge with ERP systems an asset 

Salary Range 

$110,000 - $125,000/year
