Sr. Project Manager - 12 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders for a series of post-merger integration projects
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to non-technical team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion working across multiple time zones
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Continuous development of best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during project cycle
  • Effectively lead and direct internal and external project team members working within the project guidelines and stakeholder expectations
  • Work with project support groups as needed and partner with relevant stakeholders to prepare and deliver project updates and statuses, drive task outcomes
  • Ensure alignment and update of Exec Steering Committee, Business Process Owners, Key SME's and other organization groups
  • Ensure the execution of full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Determine impact of competing activities and develop mitigation plans
  • Manage and lead weekly project management meetings with the project team, and other meetings with relevant stakeholders
  • Provide weekly status report which identifies progress towards planned performance status against deliverables, issues, risks, key decisions, and open action items

About You

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of business, computer science, management information systems or related field of study
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP)
  • 7+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Fluently bilingual both written/oral in French and English would be an asset
  • Able to simplify and communicate technical knowledge to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management and leadership
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, change management, and analytical skills
  • Attentive to details, organized, and thorough effective written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Possess a firm but fair approach to ensure sensitivity to stakeholder schedules while ensuring a clearly defined approach is set
  • Projects must be delivered and stakeholders as well as other project members must understand that their participation and commitment to your timelines are critical to project delivery
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Flexible during times of change
  • Flexible with time zones and schedules
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
