Sr Architect (Java)

About the Company  
Our client is a software company located downtown Toronto, and they are looking to hire a Sr Architect (Java).

About the Opportunity

• We are looking for an Architect who is coming from a Java development background and is currently a well-rounded software architect who can apply best practices and architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) towards Agile development of external/commercial software products involving Java, APIs/integration, RDBMS, CI/CD, etc
• These products will be in the real estate and financial industries mostly
• This role is client-facing, they will have face time with external clients to figure out how products can be deployed and architected to better integrate with client systems/needs
• The company has over 13 sprint teams. This role will not be coding but may be coaching developers

• 10+ years of experience in Java EE development
• Proven experience in architecting commercial software products in Agile environments
• Enterprise Architecture experience and knowledge of architecture best practices (eg TOGAF or similar)
• Strong understanding of APIs and other integration options
• Understanding software security principles, reviewing security scans, code vulnerability, OWASP, etc
• Excellent communication skills - clients, vendors, consultants, internal teams, and stakeholders, etc
• Ability to work from downtown office 2 days per week

• CS degree
• Experience with architecture governance (metrics/audits/etc)
• Understanding of change management for software
• CI/CD understanding
• Financial or Real Estate industry software product exposure

Salary Range
$150,000 - 180,000/year based on experience
