- Accountable for leading process improvement initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders
- Analyzing data and variable interdependencies, support defining project scope, develop action plans, and gaining all stakeholders’ agreement for proposed solutions
- Plan and lead various meetings with project teams to develop, document and refine workflows to improve existing operations and processes
- Document processes in formats that support staff training and communication
- Analyze existing work practices, identify process improvement opportunities and establish clear productivity measures and targets which can be accurately tracked and reported.
- Responsible for ensuring the appropriate internal controls are in place for any new processes or change to processes
- Develop and maintain a framework for documenting, diagnosing processes to achieve seamless integration across workflows developed by various working groups
- Provide consultative and analytical process support to working groups and planning committees
- Provide updates and presentations to planning committees and leadership teams
- Drive results in implementation and maintenance by ensuring that best practices related to Lean management are incorporated into the processes for workflows
- Create, implement, and maintain structures that support continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
- Liaise with all areas of the organization to collect information and share expertise
- Collaborate regularly with other teams across the organization as necessary to support knowledge sharing and teamwork
- Be a champion of organizational project
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Green Belt (Black Belt preferred)
- Formal training in Project Management, PMP certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience of the whole project life cycle, able to operate effectively in the initial discovery stage, through to the implementation stage, and at each stage in between
- Expert knowledge and proven capabilities to deliver on Process Improvement initiatives
- Strong influencing skills with demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority • Strong presentation skills
- Experience as a Process/Continuous Improvement Specialist at an intermediate level in an energy, oil, utility or construction environment preferred
- Change Management experience an asset
- Demonstrated experience in preparing cross-functional process maps, value stream maps, preparing reports to communicate recommendations, project status, and scheduled plans
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated expertise in group facilitation
- Solid ability to create and maintain strong relationships across the organizational at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex or new ideas into clear messages
- Ability to produce polished and professional documentation
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to foster a change environment and facilitate employees in embracing change
