Senior Staff Accountant / Accounting Manager (Closed)

About the Opportunity

A growing Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) firm in downtown Toronto. We are seeking a full-time Senior Staff Accountant/Accounting Manager

• Supervising and managing junior staff and firm workflows
• Reviewing clients’ books of accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting packages
• Reviewing client files and working papers
• Reviewing financial statements for compilation engagements
• Preparing and reviewing corporate and personal tax returns
• Assisting with tax planning and financial accounting advisory
• Reviewing GST/HST, payroll and other government reporting
• Reviewing T4s, T5s and T2200 forms
• Preparing and reviewing client correspondence i.e. emails, letters and memos

About You

• Minimum of 5 + years of related experience in an accounting role, preferably all or mostly at an accounting firm
• Formal education in accounting or business and bookkeeping experience is mandatory. An accounting designation or working towards one is preferred
• Knowledge of Quickbooks and TaxPrep is a definite asset, although not necessarily a requirement
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, investigative, and analytical skills
• Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize workflows and meet deadlines
• Ability to work overtime during peak work seasons
• Proven team player with ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

Pay Rate

$55,000 - $70,000/year
