Senior Software Engineer (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Analyze scope, business requirements, end-to-end business processes, data flows, and existing systems and databases to undertake feasibility studies, explore alternatives, and create high-level solutions that include financial considerations and time-lines
• Exercise good architectural judgment to strategize and execute against prioritized projects and initiatives
• Create workflow diagrams and other process models as required to aid in system design
• Create logical and physical data models leveraging data-modeling best-practices
• Create and document overall system architectures for projects
• Design simple to complex components that align with overall system architectures as well as organization standards such as Reference Architecture
• Design and develop user interfaces to ensure optimal user experience
• Design and implement APIs using industry best practices that provides a rich integration platform for external entities and internal cross platform applications built upon legacy to modern technology frameworks
• Write elegant code, or otherwise implement solutions in the appropriate tool sets, conforming to software quality standards
• Participate in requirements, design, user experience, and code reviews to ensure quality of work products
• Actively participate in the management of projects most likely as Dev lead for assigned projects
• Train system users, serve as an information resource, develop resource materials, and provide ongoing support as required
• Supervise, coach, and train other programmers and analysts
• Stay current with technology trends, industry standards, and proven best-practices to develop enterprise and solution-level architectural designs that are best-fit for the organization

About You

• Completed university degree in technology/science/math-related disciplines

• Proven senior level software engineering skills, including 'full-cycle' design/architecture/development in any of the following: Java, .NET, Python, Scala, PHP, etc.
• Strong full-stack and API development experience (eg Springboot or NodeJS)
• Understanding of SW principles (eg algorithms, data structures, dev patterns, etc)
• Good communication skills
• Located anywhere in Ontario
• Experience with Python, Scala, Cloud (AWS/Azure), Hive or Hadoop is an asset

Salary

$100,000 - $120,000/year
