Senior QA Analyst (Closed)

About the Company

Our client located in Toronto is currently hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join their growing team. In this role, you will be involved in business transformation projects with a strong focus on financial applications.

About the Opportunity

• Build and maintain test reports, test plans, test schedules, test results
• Work with all levels of the business to understand requirements
• Design and develop test cases and suites based on project requirements and testing standards
• Ensure sufficient test coverage and traceability
• Assists developers with test data and unit test case development
• Assist with testing a large scale, high-performance financial monitoring system
• Key contributor to the implementation of business and technical solutions for users
• Examining and the performance, availability, scalability and other non-functional requirements for the applications and drive the optimization of the applications
• Build appropriate functional and non-functional testing and performance testing for real-time alerts and reports
• Designing test strategy and setting the direction for testing to validate environment readiness and help transition solutions into production
• Strong understanding of SIT, UAT, QA, and FAT
• Recommending test tools and test methods that adequately stress the system
• Mentoring and coaching other team members
• Interacting with internal and client cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of the test cases during development and successful transition to production
• Assist in the testing of financial communication protocols including FIX, STAMP and news feeds
• Identify the resolution of problems and validate fixes provided by the team
• Extensive knowledge in investment industry/capital markets and regulatory requirements

About You

• University degree or college certification in Computer Science or Business Information Systems
• Minimum of 5+ years of related experience
• Extensive knowledge and experience with technical testing, business and project experience
• Experience converting legacy systems into new and emerging technology stacks
• Strong technical knowledge in testing methodologies, design and implementation, and comprehensive test case development
• Experience with protocols including FIX 4.2, 4.4 or 5.0and STAMP
• Experience with Selenium and QTP
• Experience with CRM/Dynamics is preferred
• Experience with scripting in RedHat Linux
• Experience with SQL, T-SQL, SSRS, SSAS and SSIS
• Knowledge of Power BI, AD, Azure and O365 is an asset
• Experience with script-based computer programming including but not limited to VB, SQL and JS
• Understanding of basic project management techniques
• Highly analytical with strong leadership, consulting and problem-solving ability
• Experience with messaging protocols and translation and mapping techniques
• Experience with databases, data mapping, and query and reporting tools
• Solid analytical, planning, negotiating and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
