Senior Property Accountant (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Accountable for financial statement preparation, GL reconciliation/analysis in addition to coordinating month end and year end;
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information;
• The incumbent will be involved with planning and operational budgets for properties and preparing the annual cost of operation;
• The incumbent will process tenant billings and conduct variance analysis and prepare accurate year end forecasts;
• Responsible for recoveries and tax remittances;
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
  Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements;
• Complies with federal, provincial and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions;
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations;
• Basic knowledge of legal documentation

About You

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in property accounting
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• 5 years experience in retail and some commercial property accounting (not residential)
• Detail oriented and accurate especially with numbers;
• Ability to work under pressure
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Experience with Yardi

Salary

$65,000/year
