Senior Payroll Analyst - 4-6 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Maintain all data on payroll system
  • Process semi-monthly multi-province payroll for over 300 employees using Ceridian’sDayforce platform
  • Receive and review payroll change information received from HR Team, plus retrieved through our Human Resource On-line system
  • Accurately compute retroactive pay, partial pay and overpayments from received data
  • Calculate and process overtime hours
  • Prepare special payment, deduction and taxable benefit upload files as required
  • Generate Records of Employment as required for maternity and other leaves, terminations, etc.
  • Compile and input new hires, plus employee change and payment or Taxable-Benefit (“T-B”) data
  • Retrieve deduction and T-B information from benefit plan provider for payroll upload
  • Administer all policies and processes related to mobility for expatriate and inpatriate employees on the Canadian core and shadow Payrolls, which includes: ensuring Certificate of Coverage applications are processed, ensuring Hypothetical taxes are withheld as needed, ensuring all year-end tax entries are recorded on T4’s
  • Oversee accurate payroll related intercompany invoicing, reconciliation and journal entries
  • Audit all information prior to input for completeness and take appropriate action where required
  • Transmit payroll data to Ceridian Dayforce platform
  • Audit all payroll output to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Download/save payroll reports
  • Prepare and upload into Oracle all payroll batch journal entries
  • Sort, file and distribute payroll reports as required
  • Research payroll issues and perform regular reconciliations
  • Calculate annual Group RRSP award amounts by individual and process payments
  • Prepare and provide payroll related reports (i.e. overtime, vacation accrual, etc.) as required
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to employee and leadership inquiries on payroll issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure T4’s and Releve 1 are accurate and reconciled before releasing each year
  • Audit benefits reports and invoices on a monthly basis
  • Administer group benefits enrolments, changes, terminations, and annual flex account allocations
  • Review processes and proactively suggest process improvements
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or required including: Stats Canada surveys a Revenue Quebec reporting
  • CRA, Provincial and internal payroll audits
  • Tracking and determining taxable benefit status on special payments and benefits

About You

  • University or College Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (Canada) designation
  • Minimum 3 years payroll processing experience with automated systems, including report writing tools
  • Experience with Quebec payroll
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Interested in part-time hours would be ideal, but full time can be given

Pay Rate

$30 - $38/hour
