About the Opportunity

  • Prepare ledgers, journals and reconciliation statements of the company to analyze the profits and losses incurred by the company during that financial year
  • Supervise the activities of all the accounting staff (A/P, A/R, Payroll).
  • Establish and maintain internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration and other activities
  • Maintains and reconciles the general ledger of the company
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end closing and coordinates and assigns duties to the accounting team as needed
  • Coordinate and assist with the budget process
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Analyze and reporting cost variances
  • Serve as a liaison to external auditors
  • Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting department
  • Maintains good corporate relations with vendors, customers, banking institutions, auditors, owners companies and other affiliates
  • Ensures compliance with provincial and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
  • Proven work experience in accounting or a related field
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations
  • Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking
  • Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Ability to delivery quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills
  • Proven experience in financial project management
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Adobe products and web-based programs with aptitude for preparing and formatting correspondence, reports and documents
  • Strong work-ethic, can-do attitude, proactive and forward-thinking
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to interact positively and work effectively with others
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a corporate multi-unit Food & Beverage or Hospitality Company is an asset

Pay Rate

$70/hour
