About the Opportunity

  • Establish trust with client senior finance leaders and become a key contact for client inquiries relating to finance and accounting operational questions, developing a good understanding of their unique finance needs
  • Responsible for managing client relationships with multiple clients
  • Respond and answer client inquiries regarding accounting or finance related matters
  • Develop system to track themes, monitoring clients’ requests and tracking responses to completion across all Finance related client reporting. and build learning materials to guide existing and future clients on 
  • For more complex requests, lead process to ensure client questions are researched appropriately, internal stakeholders are engaged and high-quality solutions are produced within required timeframe back to clients
  • Provide analysis and reporting to Vice President on themes and trends of client issues and provide recommendations for solutions that increase efficiency and reduce severity of issues
  • Partner closely with Client Services to ensure consistency of service and alignment with broader client strategy
  • Under the guidance of the Vice President, provide accounting advisory services and key accounting assessments to clients whenever required.
  • Introduce and support the adoption of continuous improvement tactics and Finance optimization, including process re-engineering and, enhanced financial reporting into the cultural DNA of Finance
  • Work in partnership with Finance leaders and other stakeholders to perform diagnostic and gap assessments for processes, identify solutions and implement value add changes.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, develop and implement automation enhancements to manual processes
  • Apply project management methodologies to ensure significant work items are delivered in a timely manner and adhere to IMCO’s EPMO framework
  • Partner with EPMO and leverage resources to support the process mapping for critical areas of work
  • Provide detailed analysis of financial and non-financial data and information

About You

  • 8+ years of related industry experience (preferably in asset management or financial institutions) with a background in public accounting/auditing that included client management responsibilities
  • CPA or CA designation
  • Experience in client facing role including client engagement and management
  • Technical accounting knowledge and experience with IFRS and Canadian ASPE pension fund accounting
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with introduction and adoption of Finance process improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience leading project design and implementation activities within financial services industry
  • Experience with supporting IT implementation requiring accounting support in a financial services group
  • Project management experience preferably within the Finance function in the financial services industry
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to research solutions
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work with Finance and other IMCO staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and financial reporting tools
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to implement control procedures
  • Self-starter able to work independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal skills and sound business judgement

Pay Rate

$65/hour
