Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A (Closed)

Our client is a large producer of nickel. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A responsible for review of submissions to business unit FP&A analysts, variances, board reporting, growth to presenting finding to senior leadership.

About the Opportunity

• Update/maintain the Corporate, Oil & Gas, Power and Other Entity Models and propose, test, and implement changes to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain and update key forecast assumptions, support impairment assessments, prepare quarterly going concern memo and prepare WACC calculations
• Review division submissions for accuracy and ensure adherence to timelines
• Consolidate financial information using Longview Software/Excel Models and prepare Forecast, Budget and Operations reports provided to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders
• Consolidate and prepare monthly cash forecasts for Senior Management to evaluate new business initiatives and strategic decisions
• Maintain appropriate documentation to support the disclosure within the Forecast, Budget, Operations and monthly cash forecast reports
• Stay up to date with ongoing developments and business changes, and ensure those are properly assessed for impacts within FP&A deliverables
• Assist with providing analysis to Senior Management to evaluate new business initiatives and to support strategic decisions for the organization
• Liaise with external auditors on forecast information, impairment and going concern assessments;
• Propose, test and implement process automation opportunities
• Support the management of the Global FP&A function, collaborating with FP&A teams in cross Canada and internationally

About You

• CPA or CFA (or close to completion)
• 5 years of financial experience in a related role, preferably at a public company
• Advanced Excel skills with financial modeling and budgeting experience
• Experience accounting for a multi-entity, multi-currency mining organization with a strong understanding of consolidation concepts is an asset

Salary Range

Up to $95,000/year
