Senior Financial Analyst/Assistant Controller - 3 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Spearhead Joint Venture financial tracking and reporting to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place, functioning effectively, and accuracy of JV financial reporting
  • Assist in planning cycle and the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecast, and presentation to leadership
  • Assist Site Controller to provide financial leadership, support, and recommendations on the strategic direction of the business, including margins, costs, new products
  • Ensure compliance with key control procedures and corporate policies at the site level, contributing to overall financial integrity of the site financial reporting and safeguarding of assets
  • Fluid collaboration with Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Assist in site financial reporting, KPIs and cause of change analysis 
  • Maintain open communication with peers to foster a consistent approach in the financial management and reporting of all units
  • Work with the Site Operations teams to identify and recommend process improvements that will deliver financial benefits or mitigate financial risks; analyze financial data to facilitate decision making at site level
  • Provide support for external and internal audits at the site
  • Assist Site Controller on other ad-hoc requests

About You

  • 7-10 years relevant Manufacturing/Operations finance experience
  • Strong costing experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Experience with Joint Ventures, Mergers and Acquisitions accounting is a recognized asset
  • Ability to work with operational leaders, offering a strong business perspective reflecting on business needs
  • Experience in effectively managing accounting, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Has worked with ERP systems in manufacturing environments, ideally participated in an ERP upgrade and implementation
  • 5+ years of people management experience in developing, mentoring, and managing finance teams preferred
  • Create, promote, and sustain a high-performance culture that thrives on continuous improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for effective communications with various levels and functions; proven ability to actively participate in discussions, providing ideas and solutions; strong and valued voice at the table
  • Post-secondary degree in finance and accounting; a professional accounting designation is a strong asset

Pay Rate

$50/hour
