About the Company
Our client is a large healthcare solutions company. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for supporting their Financial Reporting team. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst will be dealing with operations across Canada and be a key part of the team providing support for finance and accounting matters.

About the Opportunity

  • Responsible for various monthly departmental reporting and analysis
  • Review month end analytics packages submitted by Financial Analysts
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures including booking accruals for indirect departments
  • Provide support for budget activities including analysis and projection
  • Prepare Financial Reporting package for parent company on a monthly basis including analysis of variances
  • Prepare various monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly bookkeeping for subsidiaries of parent company
  • Prepare working papers for the company’s subsidiaries for tax returns and act as main liaison for tax statement preparers
  • Prepare all parent company Canadian owned companies’ financial statements for year-end tax returns
  • Audit support and working paper preparation for internal and external audits
  • Prepare all quarterly and annual Statistics Canada reporting and filings
  • Prepare indirect tax filings for subsidiaries of parent company
  • Prepare reporting package and oversee financial statements for JV
  • Oversee the rent payment process and support lease reconciliation activities for the ROU lease asset and lability
  • Ensure Manager is informed of important accounting information in a timely and efficient manner
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses and give guidance/refreshed to analyst on proper and sufficient explanations to further improve packages submitted to Corporate Controller and CFO for monthly financial review meetings
  • Provide finance support to internal functions and operations teams as needed
  • Support and complete ad-hoc financial reporting requests and projects


About You

  • Completion of CPA designation, or close to completion
  • Public accounting firm experience
  • Exposure to preparing corporate tax returns
  • Financial statement preparation experience in accordance with US GAAP is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software an asset
  • Strong excel skills to update and enhance current company processes and month end close procedures/reports



$85,000 to $90,000/year
