Senior Financial Analyst (Closed)

This is an exciting new role at a large, Canadian hospitality company. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to be responsible for supporting the development and performance of the broader accounting team as well as driving financial and tax reporting.

 About the Opportunity 

• Recruit, train, and develop accountant as well as manage performance of accounting team by providing timely feedback and ongoing coaching 
• Focus on continuous improvement to develop tools to support timely execution of operational imperatives 
• Develop relationships with other working groups in and outside of Finance to achieve objectives 
• Drive the full cycle accounting process for corporate entities by supporting the accountants in applying policies 
• Provide innovative ideas to streamline month end closing 
• Implement procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of resulting data 
• Prepare schedules and analyses and provide support for financial audits 
• Prepare accounting for special transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and windups, including journal entries and support for external auditors 
• Lead the consolidation process in accordance with IFRS, including elimination entries 
• Drive the financial reporting process by preparing the financial statement notes and related working papers on a quarterly basis 
• Ensure the maintenance of effective internal controls and processes 
• Prepare GST/HST, partnership and corporate tax returns 
• Support the improvements to tax reporting and file maintenance 
• Support the standardization of working papers for tax purposes 
• Support in correspondence with taxation authorities 
• Drive system implementations as applicable 

About You 

• CPA  
• Minimum 3 years in a Finance/Accounting role, preferably from public accounting 
• Advanced Excel skills with a demonstrated ability to work with large datasets 
• Experience in construction, real estate, or hospitality is an asset 

Salary Range 

Up to $90,000/ year
